The Badger Lapidary and Geological Society's 34th annual Jewelry, Mineral, Fossil and Gem Show will take place this weekend in Monroe, Wisconsin.<BR/><BR/>The event will be held on March 21st and 22nd at Monroe High School and organisers predict the it will be an educational and entertaining experience for visitors and families.<BR/><BR/>The show's programme features a number of lectures and debates, as well as demonstrations by a number of club members who turn rough stones into jewellery, the Monroe Times reports.<BR/><BR/>Children will be given the opportunity to take part in a scavenger hunt to locate and describe minerals and a hands-on gold and gemstone panning activity, in which they get to keep their findings.<BR/><BR/>Dealers will be offering minerals, fine jewellery, fossils and stones from around the world and a silent auction table will feature an array of items.<BR/><BR/>The Badger Lapidary and Geological Society is a non-profit organization formed in 1965. The club aims to stimulate the interest of its members and the general public in the study of geology, palaeontology, archaeology and the lapidary arts.
