Friday, 26th March 2004 (5960 views) Lavish gold jewellery is set to flourish as the look of luxury is said to be popular again.<BR/><BR/>US fashion is moving towards glamour and is witnessing a high demand in the luxury look by a wide range of consumers according to US companies and popular jewellery items are set to return to the use of precious metals such as gold.<BR/><BR/>Theresa Bartolo of Theresa Russell Interiors in Boca Raton explained to the Portsmouth Herald: "Today's buyer is more sophisticated. They are not afraid to copy the rich. They expect you to give them as close as possible to what they want and stay within a respectable budget."<BR/><BR/>Other industry sectors are set to use gold too, with some home interior companies using the precious metal to add a touch of class and glamour to a range of household items.<BR/><BR/>Many are claiming the current trends are similar to those of the past and that the 80s are back.<BR/><BR/>"They're back and they are going to get back more before the decade is out," said Robert Thompson, professor of popular culture at Syracuse University.<BR/><BR/>The popularity of the look of luxury is set to last a long time with designers claiming such trends tend to "last longer than a trend toward plainness".
