Tuesday, 27th April 2004 (6882 views) With the influence rap stars are having on the latest fashion trends in America, a host of stars are turning to the fashion business and launching their own lines.<BR/><BR/>Originally releasing their own clothing and footwear, stars are now beginning to move into the jewellery sector with Russell and Kimora Simmons, along with M. Fabrikant & Sons set to soon start Simmons Jewelry Co. <BR/><BR/>In addition Damon Dash of the Roc-A-Fella empire (that encompasses Rocawear) has also revealed plans to launch Tiret New York jewellery and accessories.<BR/><BR/>Kathryn Whelan of The Lark at St. Louis's Northwest Plaza commenting about the popularity of the look explained: "It's a lifestyle. If everyone around you is dressing this way ... And, the videos play a big part."<BR/><BR/>Rap and Hip-hop stars such as Jay-Z, P Diddy and Nelly are well known for their mass of gold jewellery and chains, all used to form part of their look.
