A host of luxury labels have been picked to help attract wealthy tourists to Singapore during the Great Singapore Sale this year.

Among the 30 upmarket names is Larry Jewellery which will offer discounts from 10 to 70 per cent during the annual event that begins on May 28.

Singapore Tourist Board's director of tourism shopping, Sulian Tan-Wijaya told the Business Times: "We want to leverage on the luxury goods sales here to draw affluent customers from the region, not just from the traditional markets of Japan and Indonesia but also from the newer places like China and India to shop in Singapore."

Reportedly the collection of luxury names that agreed to take part will be promoted "through a separate platform, in terms of advertising and media channels" and will be kept separate from the typical stores that take part.

This year's event will run for a total of eight weeks and advertising has this year covered Australia too to fully promote luxury goods.
