Gold and platinum jewellery worth almost £1 million was stolen at a Swindon petrol station from a customer's car.<BR/><BR/>The 18 carat gold jewellery was stolen from the vehicle when the victim went to pay for petrol and the car was locked.<BR/><BR/>Detective Constable Paul Hacker of Wiltshire Police who is investigating the case explained that although car theft is common the "high value involved in this theft is very rare".<BR/><BR/>The jewellery was held in a black case and it is believed the event might have been a pre-planned snatch.<BR/><BR/>Police do not want to fully reveal the exact value of the missing goods, although they are known to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=2663691"/>
