Jewellery the top gift choice in US for Father's Day

A new study has highlighted the top gifts for Father's Day among US consumers.<BR/><BR/>Although a wide range of gifts proved popular, jewellery was the present that appeared to be rising in demand, given as a gift of love and appreciation and said to have long lasting quality and sentiment.<BR/><BR/>Sponsored by the Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council (JCOC) and carried out by MVI Marketing, 2,800 participants were questioned as part of the study, according to JCK.<BR/><BR/>Figures showed that four per cent of consumers questioned were looking to specifically purchase jewellery for their Dad.<BR/><BR/>The most popular choices were a watch (more than 50 per cent) and a ring (nearly 28 per cent).<BR/><BR/>The survey also showed that father's themselves would prefer such items, with a significant 36 per cent wanting jewellery for their gift.<BR/><BR/>Findings also indicated that the most popular watch style was casual, and that Timex was the leading watch brand of choice. In addition local jewellers were the key jewellery shopping venue for consumers and yellow gold was the most popular metal with 63 per cent choosing it.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=2918638"/>
