Next generation fine jewellery designers are making a big impact on the jewellery sector by using unusual methods, stones and shapes.

Whilst larger jewellery houses such as Tiffany are still successful, the next generation jewellers appear to dare to go that little bit further, according to Lucire.

Among the innovative jewellers making a mark on the sector at the moment are Brazilian jewellery line H.Stern, Christian Tse, Carolyn Tyler and Elizabeth Locke.

Typical creations use 18 or 22 carat yellow or white gold, bright colours such as pink, blue, yellow and green and an array of precious stones.

One designer Christian Tse is reportedly inspired by real life and makes jewellery based on forms such as ruffled necklines or teardrops.

Typical innovative items include jewelled handbag shaped charms, animal inspired brooches, mesh necklaces and twisted metals.

With more consumers wanting unique pieces, the designs which appear to be inspired by rainbow colours are proving very popular.
