The popularity of Italian jewellery in the US was discussed this week at a special dinner gala held in New York.<BR/><BR/>A collection of jewellers were awarded at the event including Ben Bridge Jewelers, Jill Newman - a journalist specialising in coverage of fine jewellery, gemstones and watches and Lauren Kulchinsky, co-vice president of Mayfair Diamonds and Fine Jewellery. <BR/><BR/>Speaking at the event, Ed Bridge, president and chief executive officer of Ben Bridge Jewellers said: "Italian jewellery: just the words make the American consumer's heart beat a little faster."<BR/><BR/>Over 300 people attended the event, which also included a four-part fashion preview of the latest designs by 40 Italian jewellers, according to National Jeweler.<BR/><BR/>Among the new looks set to be popular in the sector were 20s and 30s, tribal looks and classic styles.<BR/><BR/>The event was co-sponsored by the Vincenza Trade Fair, the Italian Trade Commission, Trends & Jewellery Forecasting, and Giuliana Teso.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3121854"/>
