Custom designed jewellery the latest trend in USThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 29th July 2004 (6255 views) Customer designed jewellery in the US is becoming increasingly popular and no longer seen as just for the rich and famous.

Meeting the demand for individual styles with reasonable prices, jewellers are now trying to create unique pieces and within a particular budget the consumer sets.

Joy Badders, of Jewelry of Joy told The Daytona Beach News Journal: "Every piece is different, so it's hard to give an average price for a designer piece. But we can work within a client's budget to design something that they can love."

Particularly popular with consumers is the use of melting down a collection of old pieces such as inherited jewellery to create new designs.

Owner of Designs by Kevin, Kevin Kotches explained: "I like my customers to be involved in the whole process, from coming up with the design to the completed piece. That way, we can make changes as we go, so that people end up with exactly the look they want."
