People on the hunt for gold are starting to search in Oregon once again, since many claim that 95 per cent of the area's gold is still to be discovered.

Brian Stocker with American Coin and Gold told Katu News: "The old-timers didn't get it all.

"A lot of gold gets stuck under big boulders and rocks and stuff that's just waiting to be discovered."

However although many are keen to keep searching, others have admitted it is partly a gamble.

Dave Donahue with Western Mining Corporation explained: "You're taking a chance. If you actually do hit something, it's fantastic, but if you don't, it's a little bit difficult to pay the bills."
