Thursday, 26th August 2004 (6177 views) A new timepiece has been launched to commemorate the Santos de Cartier Watch, which is now a century old.<BR/><BR/>The watch was made by a pioneer in aviation, Alberto Santos-Dumont, and premier European jeweller Louis Cartier.<BR/><BR/>Now the watch has been revamped in the Santos 100 collection, which is available at select retail outlets, according to The Telegraph India.<BR/><BR/>The original piece mixed gold and steel with external screws and a leather strap, whilst the new watch has two designs. <BR/><BR/>Cartier has provided a choice of a steel watch or a solid gold item and claims the designs symbolise "elegance, refinement, daring and style".<BR/><BR/>A luxurious lavish version has also been created, which is encrusted with diamonds.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3285836"/>
