GFMS sees jewellery fabrication rise

Global jewellery fabrication has recorded its highest first half total since 2001, according to precious metals consultancy GFMS.<BR/><BR/>GFMS has published its latest Gold Survey, which says that buoyant demand in Asia and the Middle East markets has helped bolster the figures. <BR/><BR/>The firm's research suggests that total fabrication rose by six per cent in comparison with the first half of last year.<BR/><BR/>Jewellery fabrication rose 79 tonnes, offering encouragement to precious metals analysts who identified an upturn in the sector.<BR/><BR/>They estimate that full year fabrication will see a rise of seven per cent.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3437401"/>
