Monday, 27th September 2004 (4635 views) Victoria in Australia is said to be experiencing a gold rush as strong gold prices and improved technology help boost projects and exploration.<BR/><BR/>According to The Age, exploration funding is up in the area and three projects are already under way to mine for gold.<BR/><BR/>Latest figures have shown that gold exploration in Victoria has boomed to the highest level since 1996-1997 to approximately $41 million.<BR/><BR/>Among the new gold projects underway in the area are exploration by Bendigo Mining, Ballarat Goldfields and Perserverance.<BR/><BR/>It is thought that once the three projects were finished Victoria would be producing close to 800,000 ounces, according to the Victorian Minerals and Energy Council.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3478922"/>
