US museum displays Native American jewellery

The US is to be offered an insight into Native American jewellery in a new exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.<BR/><BR/>'Totems to Turquoise' highlights the cultural significance of contemporary and historical jewellery and contains over 500 pieces.<BR/><BR/>The exhibition is running all the way through to July 10 in 2005m with artist and piece information displayed next to each item of jewellery that is showcased.<BR/><BR/>A host of items are displayed including sculptures, boxes, masks and jewellery.<BR/><BR/>The exhibition also includes weavings, pottery and figures, and shows the similarities and differences in the northwest and southwest regions in the US.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=3731629"/>
