Tuesday, 14th December 2004 (5746 views) The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has held a meeting of senior officials this week to ensure different trades associated with tourism run as smoothly as possible.<br/><br/>Among the issues discussed at the event are ways to promote events and areas, stopping illegal tour operators and the gold sector.<br/><br/>The event included the Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Department of Economic Development.<br/><br/>In the past the department set up special measures to check the sale of gold watches and popular brands in the Gold Souq.<br/><br/>In addition, local tour operators were prevented from taking visitors to specific gold shops of their choice, to ensure tourist visits were fair.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7318041"/>
