Tuesday, 25th January 2005 (6625 views) Jewellery designs in Asia are said to be continuously improving and are now posing a challenge to jewellery makers in Italy.<br/><br/>According to Reuters, improvements have been made in Thailand, China and Turkey and they are moving into markets once dominated by the biggest world exporter Italy.<br/><br/>Fabrizio Filippi, CEO of Superoro, a major Italian jewellery maker, explained: "The Asian market is definitely getting better -- high quality jewellery may be the only market for us in the future but we are still innovating."<br/><br/>According to figures recently released by GFMS, gold jewellery fabrication increased by four per cent in 2004 and most of the growth came from Asia.<br/><br/>"We have our own creative design department. We can definitely compete with the Italians on manufactured gold jewellery, it's not a problem," Feyza Celik, area manager with major Turkey-based jewellery group Goldas said.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7643582"/>
