Friday, 11th February 2005 (5576 views) US radio star Dr Laura has reportedly raised more than $45,000 for Operation Family Fund by opening a Valentine's Day Boutique on her website selling her hand-made necklaces.<br/><br/>The LA-based Dr Laura Schlessinger urged listeners of her radio show to visit drlaura.com and purchase one-of-a-kind necklaces. All the necklaces are designed and handmade by Dr Laura herself and each one features semi-precious stones, pearls, gold, and silver. <br/><br/>One hundred per cent of the proceeds of sales from the necklaces will be donated to Operation Family Fund.<br/><br/>The first boutique opened on January 31st and sold out within two days, forcing a second boutique to be opened earlier than expected. When the second boutique closed on February 7th, thousands of dollars had been raised through necklace sales and donations.<br/><br/>The mission of Operation Family Fund is to "provide for the families of those who have been killed or severely disabled during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with funds for immediate or long-term needs."<br/><br/>The Dr Laura Program is nationally syndicated and is broadcast on 250 stations across the United States. Dr Laura is the second most popular radio talk show host in the country and has been helping listeners with their problems on air for more than 25 years.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7781109"/>
