Tuesday, 15th February 2005 (6031 views) Switzerland is playing host to two key jewellery auctions this week, according to Rapaport.<br/><br/>The first event to take place is Christie's Important Jewels auction, which will be held on February 16th and will feature a host of top items.<br/><br/>Typical prices for items range from $42,000 to $52,000 for a brooch and $2.3 to $2.9 million for the company's key item.<br/><br/>The key feature for Christie's is a rectangular cut diamond pendant with a sapphire surround and mounted on 18 carat blackened gold.<br/><br/>In addition, Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels auction will be held the next day, with items including drop earrings, diamond rings and Cartier designs.<br/><br/>The special auctions are held annually and will be running in St Moritz, with Europe's most famous ski slopes in the background.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7810674"/>
