Monday, 21st February 2005 (5813 views) California-based jewellery firm PearlParadise has been chosen to provide one of the gifts for this year's Oscars.<br/><br/>The online jewellery site has provided items for the awards ceremony in the past and this year will donate an 18-inch baroque Tahitian pearl necklace for official recipients.<br/><br/>Each pearl on the necklace is individually double knotted on black silk and the item also features a solid 14 carat white gold ball.<br/><br/>Jeremy Shepherd CEO of PearlParadise.com, commented: "We are very excited to participate in the 77th Academy Awards(R) Presenters Gift Basket."<br/><br/>The Oscars are due to take place on Sunday February 27th this year.<br/><br/>According to Mr Shepherd he saw the pearls in Tahiti and immediately "knew they would be the perfect gift for Hollywood's highest achievers".<br/><br/>"I'm very happy that our pearls will add a little more glamour to what is already the world's most glamorous night," he added.<br/><br/>The necklace is valued at $3,200.<img src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=7851041"/>
