Thursday, 24th March 2005 (6095 views) Key figures from Russia's jewellery industry have met with Russian president Vladimir Putin this week to discuss the future of the sector.<br/><br/>Representatives of the Jewelers Guild of Russia and the general manager of the Krasnoselsk jewellery enterprise, Floon Gumerov, took part in the talks, according to Rapaport.<br/><br/>The guild said that the discussions, which also included problems facing the industry, would have a positive impact on the guild and the future of the jewellery sector.<br/><br/>Figures from the Assay Chamber showed that gold jewellery production in Russia increased by 22 per cent last year.<br/><br/>Results showed that Russia produced 26.942 million items of gold jewellery, using 60.784 tonnes of gold.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=8109267"/>
