Canada's Conquest Resources has completed its winter drill programme on the King Bay property in Ontario.

The drilling was made up of seven holes and a total of 865 metres of diamond drilling.

However, drilling was limited due to deteriorating ice conditions at the site, according to CNN Matthews.

However two of the six previously identified areas were investigated, thought to represent the source of high-grade gold.

The highest value reported in the first sampling was 13.45 gm/t gold over a width of 14 centimetres.

Drilling showed that the site was directly associated with a considerable area of intense hydrothermal alteration which is associated with gold bearing blue-black quartz veins.

Conquest's president & CEO, Terence McKillen, explained: " The target mineralisation, as indicated by the three discrete boulder trains comprising over 265 boulders found on the south shore of King Bay, is high grade gold contained in blue-black quartz veins in a hydrothermally altered quartz porphyry together with pyrrhotite."

Additional sampling will now be carried out on the remaining intersections.

Conquest is currently exploring several gold projects in Ontario.
