Significant gold mineralisation has been discovered at the Mwamazengo prospect within the Mabale Hills project in Tanzania.

According to Mining Weekly, drilling was conducted by Australian miner Sub Sahara Resources for joint venture partner Currie Rose Resources.

Drilling was made up of four reverse circulation drill holes and 19 rotary air blast drill holes.

The company said: "RAB drilling failed to close off mineralisation to the south and very weak mineralisation was encountered approximately 150 m north of the most northern RC drill hole. As a result, mineralisation is open in both directions and at depth."

It is hoped further drilling will take place later in the year.
