Tuesday, 21st June 2005 (3726 views) Christie's is to hold an auction of items once part of a host of well-known ocean liners.<br/><br/>The New York auction house has not featured liner travel items for nine years, but will now showcase items from the Normandie, the Queen Elizabeth 2 and the Lusitania.<br/><br/>Items include gold Art Deco panels that featured in the Grand Salon on the Normandie and formed part of a larger composition, according to Bloomberg.<br/><br/>The panels were designed by Jean Dupas in 1934 and are expected to raise approximately $20,000 to $150,000.<br/><br/>Taking place on June 23rd, the sale includes 294 items and is set to raise around $900,000 to $1.2 million.<br/><br/>Gregg Dietrich, a Christie's expert in charge of the sale, said: "The market is on a resurgence.
