Around 300 lots of Geoffrey Watling's possessions were auctioned this weekend, where bidding exceeded all expectations.<br/><br/>The former bankroller of Norwich City FC would have been pleased that the items that attracted the biggest interest were his jewellery collections.<br/><br/>A pair of diamond encrusted chequer board cufflinks sold for £520, despite being valued at £150 while a second pair made of white gold and diamond with the initials GW engraved on them more than doubled their expected price, fetching £620.<br/><br/>Mr Watling's pocket watch sold for £600 and a nine-carat gold signet ring was sold for £280 - it was initially valued at £80.<br/><br/>The auction was initially scheduled to take place the previous weekend but a burglary where thieves stole around 200 lots forced organisers to reschedule.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=16032758"/>
