The World Gold Council (WGC) has brought some of the best Italian jewellery designers and craftsmen together in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through the Gold Expressions 2005 expo.<br/><br/>Including a press conference, trade fair, gala night and fashion show, Gold Expressions 2005 brought 69 renowned Italian gold jewellery designers to the resort of Madinat Jumierah in Dubai.<br/><br/>More than 400 exquisite gold pieces were on display, with the aim of showcasing the best of Made in Italy gold jewellery design and craftsmanship to the Middle Eastern market.<br/><br/>"The Middle East region is the second largest market for Italian jewellery products with Dubai being the second import destination in the world of Italian jewellery," commented Moaz Barakat, managing director of the WGC for the Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan, according to AME. <br/><br/>"With Italy's pivotal role as the centre of innovation and excellence in the design and manufacture of gold jewellery, we regard a robust Italian gold jewellery business as critical to the growth of global gold consumption."<br/><br/>Gold Expressions 2005 is a global tour which began in Vicenza, Italy in January, has already visited China, Hong Kong and Las Vegas, and will move to India from Dubai.<img alt="track" src="http://directnews.dehavilland.co.uk/dn.gif?feedid=196&itemid=16056801"/>
