High copper-gold grades found in TibetThursday, 14th July 2005 (2756 views) Continental Minerals have discovered new high copper-gold grades in southwest Lhasa, Tibet. The exploration drill holes discovered broad intervals of high-grade copper and gold mineralization at the Xietongmen copper-gold project. The announcement was made by Ronald W Thiessen, president and chief executive of Continental, and Anthony Garson, president and chief executive of China NetTV Holdings. China NetTV and Continental are engaged in a joint venture in relation to the Xietongmen property. Xietongmen is home to porphyry-like, disseminated and quartz-stockwork copper and gold mineralization within a four-kilometre long alteration zone. Assay results to date show strong continuity of mineralization and correlation between copper and gold values. More explorative drills are expected in the near future, with six drill rigs already in place to delineate and expand this significant new copper-gold discovery.
