Gold exploration begins in Yukon territoryFriday, 15th July 2005 (2832 views) StrataGold Corporation has announced that it has commenced a drilling program in south-east Yukon.The reconnaissance work will take place on the Hyland Gold Property, near the Tintina Gold Belt. The company will explore for large tonnage, sediment-hosted gold deposits similar to those found in the Carlin District in Nevada. The drilling is part of a joint venture with Northgate Exploration, who will fund the four-hole, 1,000-metre drill programme. StrataGold will test the Cuz anomaly, south of the main zone, as well as two coincident targets located east of the main Hyland zone. The two companies have worked together for two years on the area of known mineralization on the Hyland property. StrataGold has previously focused on the exploration of two advanced stage gold projects and several prospective gold properties located along the Tintina Gold Belt.
