22-carat blouse steals gold showMonday, 25th July 2005 (4924 views) A blouse made of pure gold is wowing visitors to a jewellery store in Chennai, India. The hand-crafted garment features 3.2kgs of 22 carat gold of international quality and is set with precious stones. The blouse is being displayed at the Prakash Gold Palace with a pair of matching earrings and, despite a hefty price tag, has already been snapped up by a customer in Dubai. "It is made from our own ideas. If the people in the Arab wear it, they will always remember it," said Prakashchand Jain, of Prakash Gold Palace. It took ten craftsmen 35 days to complete the blouse, which reportedly looks more like a piece of jewellery than an evening garment. The exhibition at Prakash Gold Palace in Kellys also features a 600 gram gold rickshaw-puller, a 350 gram gold flower vase and a golden map of India, weighing 600 grams. The event marks the company's 15th anniversary in business and runs until July 27th.
