Although gold phones have been around for some time, the demand for them near Manchester is hotting up.<br/><br/>Vertu's Signature mobile phone comes in white gold, steel or platinum and reportedly utilises some of the same materials as NASA spacecrafts.<br/><br/>Another model is the Ascent, which is encrusted with sapphires and has a choice of cases such as its limited edition baby pink one.<br/><br/>Cottrills, a Macclesfield jewellers, has already sold around 25 of the exclusive mobiles.<br/><br/>Although the phones may look the business they do not include any new gadgets, however, those purchasing one of the handsets will be entitled to a free concierge service.<br/><br/>Gold is renowned for its decorative qualities such as the way it catches the light and is also used in a variety of electrical appliances as it conducts electricity well.<br/>
