The Gold Survey 2005 has finally been released in Hindi for the first time by its publishers GFMS.

Industry insiders have expressed surprise that this hasn't happened before since Indians are the world's biggest consumers of gold and in 2004 they fabricated an estimated 610 tonnes of gold.

Paul Walker, chief executive officer of GFMS, presented the publication on August 24th at the International Gold Convention in Mumbai.

He then went on to discuss the demand, supply, investment and price outlook of the international bullion scenario during which India Infoline reported him as saying: " Gold jewellery is facing challenges from changing consumer preferences but still benefiting from rapid income growth in several large developing countries."

The conference is taking place at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai and amongst the issues up for discussion are the trends in hallmarking and the international integration of the Indian gold market.

At present the Gold Survey is available in English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Russian and now Hindi.
