The latest word in cocktails is 'gold' after a South African bar has announced its intention to offer a glitzy drink.

Named 'Bling', this cocktail will leave you incredulous as it includes a 0.26-carat diamond set in 18-carat white gold and hanging on a white gold chain, reports Cape Argus.

The white gold chain will lead the drinker's eyes down to the diamond that will rest in the triple sec, lychee and vodka cocktail.

Cape Town's M-Bar in the Metropole Hotel will be offering the drink that comes with a certificate of authentication.

The hotel owners apparently got the idea after a London hotel did the same thing with a diamond ring.

Pearl in London, for example, which on Valentine's Day 2005 offered one lucky guest an 18-carat white or yellow gold diamond ring if they found a black pearl that was hidden on one of the restaurant's tables.

At R3,500 the 'Bling' cocktail does not come cheap, but that's the cost of luxury.
