Unseen gold artefacts are to be exhibited at the British Museum as part of its exhibition on Persian art.<br/><br/>Some of the ancient pieces that include gold jewellery, rare artefacts and reliefs dating from 550BC to 330BC will be borrowed from the National Archaeological Museum in Tehran, Iran.<br/><br/>Ancient Persia was the Ancient Near-East's largest and most prosperous state famed for its architecture and its luxurious goods.<br/><br/>Amongst the exhibits will be intricately carved gold and silver bowls, a 3.7 metre column from Persepolis, and highly decorated gold objects found in graves.<br/><br/>This dazzling display will for the first time exhibit some expensive gold and silver items and opens at the British Museum on September 8th.<br/><br/>An international conference, 'The World of Achaemenid Persia' will be running concurrently as will numerous educative events such as a free Persian family day on November 5th.<br/>
