San Jose bears gold for Minera AndesThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 23rd September 2005 (6254 views) Three new areas of high-grade gold and silver have been discovered on Minera Andes' San Jose project in south Argentina. The sites of the 38 drill holes, which identified over two kilometres of new and still open-ended mineralised vein trend, were the Frea vein and the Odin and Frea Satellite targets. In the drilling campaign, the best gold value encountered was 158 g/t over 1.72 metres located in the Frea Satellite Vein, which is thought to be a close parallel vein structure. At the previously identified Frea Vein, formerly known as Huevos Verdes East, one hole intercepted one metre of 16.49 g/t of gold. Allen Ambrose, president of Minera Andes, said: "The drilling results from this exploration program reveal new areas of high-grade mineralisation that have the potential to expand the project and build additional reserves and resources." It is expected that the next level of development will occur on the San Jose project if a feasibility study, due this month, is encouraging.
