Alan Revere's achievements with gold, platinum and diamonds have earned him an award for excellence at the 150-year old California State Fair.

It was his "fold-unfold ring" that sealed his victory over thousands of other contestants. The ring is 18-carat gold complemented with 14-carat red gold, platinum and diamonds.

Mr Revere received his education in jewellery in Germany, studying under some of the best goldsmiths in the business.

Upon returning home to his native San Francisco he set up the Revere Academy of Jewellery Arts, where he passes on much of the knowledge he obtained in Germany. Later, he would go on to found the Contemporary Design Group.

Currently Mr Revere is part of the American Jewellery Design Council, a national organisation that promotes creative jewellery design and integrity and ethics in business and design.
