Friday, 30th September 2005 (7335 views) Gold exploration company Mill City Gold has commenced drilling at its Pony Creek/Elliot Dome property in Nevada.The drilling programme will be testing for Mississippian-Devonian geology, which contains gold-mineralised host rock, in the Newmont Rain deposit. It will also test the Pony Creek mineralised system down to a depth of 2,500 feet. In total, an initial 7,500 feet of drilling will take place over the next few weeks. The drilling was given the go ahead last week following a drilling contract with Kettle Drilling, which is now to undertake the operations in Nevada. According to a report last year on the Pony Creek property, it has an inferred resource of 1,426,000 ounces of gold at a grade of 0.044 ounces a tonne. The Pony Creek/Elliot Dome property is currently optioned to Grandview Gold, which has the option to earn an undivided 60 per cent interest in the property.
