Tuesday, 29th November 2005 (5887 views) Pantaloon Retail India, the country's largest retailer is rebranding its Gold Bazaar chain.The company has gained a reputation for being on the pulse and is displaying its business acumen by picking up on this season's trend for gold jewellery. It has teamed up with Forever Precious Jewellery and Diamonds to rebrand its jewellery outlets, which form part of its Big Bazaar chain. According to the company's managing director Kishore Biyani, "gold and jewellery is a big category". Pantaloon has plans for rapid expansion and Mr Biyani recently suggested to the Times of India that Chandigarh needed a new shopping centre, as "consumption drives development". Pantaloon predicts a turnover of Rs 8,000 crore by the end of 2008.
