Talk show gifts gold-diamond ringsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 20th December 2005 (6012 views) The Tony Danza show recently gifted every member of its audience a gold-diamond necklace live on TV, fibre2fashion.com reportsIn what could turn out to be a shrewd marketing ploy, manufacturing firm Stuckey supplied the show with enough of its $525 Diamond Journey-branded pieces to go around every studio audience member. One million viewers watched the popular talk show as the lucky spectators claimed their opulent prizes. The necklace was set in 14-carat gold and featured one fifth-carat of diamonds. CEO Jay Stuckey said the stunt which was organised with the help of the Diamond Information Centre - couldn't have come at a more crucial time. "Anytime they can reach one million consumers at this critical time of the year to raise awareness of giving the gift of diamonds, it has to help not only their jewellers but the entire industry. I'll do it every time," he commented. The move is intended to bring traffic to diamondjourney.com, which was launched recently by Stuckey in anticipation of the holiday season. The website aims to provide independent jewellers with the tools for today's market.
