Typhoon release assay resultsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 24th March 2006 (6244 views) Typhoon Exploration has announced assay results from a preliminary round of samples of a drill program at its Fayolle property in Canada.Only nine of the 17 drill holes have so far been fully assayed, but results show more widespread lower and higher gold mineralisation exceeding the current limits of the know gold-carbonate corridors and lenses. New gold intervals with more than 3g/t gold have been discovered. All of the 17 drill holes have been logged, with mineralised samples having been shipped to an accredited assay laboratory. In order to produce detailed vectoring of the gold mineralisation, whole-rock samples from the drill core are being examined. Typhoon chief David McDonald said: "In the last few weeks, we have been able to shorten the gap between the drilling, which has progressed rapidly, core logging and sampling and assaying. We will be able to release additional results from holes 10 to 17 shortly." The exploration company controls a five-mile stretch along the gold-bearing Porcupine-Destor Fault.
