Monday, 27th March 2006 (5999 views) The Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) has announced that the Fourth Dubai 'City of Gold' conference is to be held in the emirate at the end of April.Fuad Nonoo, chairman of the conference organising committee, said the event was scheduled for 24th and 25th of next month at the Park Hyatt hotel. The chairman of the DGJG, Tawhid Abdullah, confirmed that challenges to the global jewellery industry were to be the central theme but delegates had a responsibility to focus on "reinvigorating the hearts and minds of customers". Ahmed bin Sulayem, chief operating officer of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), maintained that this conference was of the utmost importance. "The gold industry is at a crucial stage in its development today and is experiencing growth in all aspects," he said. "The City of Gold conference is an excellent networking forum for the gold and jewellery industry, as it brings together the entire supply chain from mining to manufacturing jewellery under one platform," Mr bin Sulayem told AME Info. The conference is the only globally recognised event of its kind to be held in the Middle East and is again supported by the DMCC, as it has been for the past two years.
