Tanishq launches new jewellery range

Wednesday, 12th April 2006 (4339 views)

Indian jeweller Tanishq has launched its new range of jewellery, called 'Colours of Royalty', which has just been made available in stores for the first time this week.

The collection features more than 200 pieces, from necklaces and bracelets to tiaras, which include a variety of diamonds and other precious stones set in 18-carat gold.

The tiaras themselves weigh approximately 450 grams each and come with a spring mechanism that allows them to sit more comfortably on the crown of the head.

Govind Raj, the general manager of sales and marketing for Tanishq, said that the jewellery, originally crafted for the Miss India 2006 pageant last month, is indicative of the 19th century.

"The collection is inspired by the sensibilities found in the architecture, fashion, design, drapes and patterns of the Victorian period," he said.

C K Venkatraman, Tanishq's chief operating officer, told reporters that the pageant had offered "the perfect platform to showcase our differentiated products for the contemporary Indian woman".

"We believe our association is testimony to our continued supremacy in the market as being the trendsetters in jewellery design and styling," he added.

The jewellery is now on sale in all branches of the jeweller throughout India.
