Following the completion of the product development appraisal programme at the Cerro Casale site, Bema has now released the results.

Carried out by Mine Quarry Engineering Services, the project was intended to supply updated details to add top those gathered by Placer Dome two years ago.

The analysis of ore extraction methods included a consideration of open pit mining, as well as the practice of heap leaching to a total daily quantity of 75,000 tonnes.

Such leaching of oxides ore was restructured on the basis of the appraisal findings.

It also confirmed that the property is likely to host ore reserves of over one billion tonnes, to a grade of 0.69 grams per tonne of gold and a total of 23 million tonnes of gold.

The company has also revealed plans to enter into a partnership with another mining firm to develop the property.
