Eastmain announces favourable resultsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 24th August 2006 (5440 views) Eastmain Resources has announced favourable results from depth drilling at the Eau Claire deposit in Canada. These findings from the site, which is located in Ottawa, indicate that the size of the gold deposit is bigger than at first thought. Drill highlights include a quartz-tourmaline vein in one hole which assayed 8.64 grams per tonne of gold (g/t Au) over 3 metres descending 880 metres. A 0.5 section of this vein contained visible gold which graded 42 g/t Au. The same hole intercepted parallel high-grade veins ranging from 11.9 to 20.4 g/t over a width 1.4 to 1.6 metres, by doing this extending the D vein group 250 metres down dip. Other good gradings included 13.7 g/t Au over 5.0 metres in hole ER04-38 and hole ER06-52, which intercepted 7.32 g/t Au over 2.6 metres including a central length of 19.65 g/t Au over 0.6 metres. The company estimates that 25 per cent of the sites total resource lies within the D group and drilling work over the last year has identified the deposit's extensions. Deep drilling work leads the company that the Eau Claire project has the potential to produce in excess of one million ounces of gold.
