Majestic receive mining resultsThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 31st August 2006 (3399 views) Majestic Gold has received results from its project in China. The Song Jiaguo mine is based in Shangdong province. The company has announced assay returns from the first three diamond drill holes of its 2006 drill programme. The exploration work is designed to test the extent, tonnage and grade of a wide deposit of potentially bulk-mineable gold mineralisation. In addition, the company hoped to determine similar readings for adjacent high-grade gold bearing structures, for which a resource estimate was carried out in April of this year. Individual assays from the three holes returned aggregates of 7.5 grams per tonne of gold (g/t Au) over 16 metres, 3.84 g/t Au over 19 metres and 5.43 g/t Au over 20.8 metres. Bulk mineable targets returned aggregates of 0.82 g/t Au over 184.2 metres, 0.57 g/t Au over 141.2 metres and 0.84 g/t Au over 158.9 metres. The three holes were along 100 metres of a strike length that goes on for at least 550 metres. Head of exploration John Zimmerman commented: "Hole 27, drilled on the north end of the system, shows that gold mineralisation is still open to the north-east; an area of soil anomalies about 250 metres further north-east of this hole will be drilled in a step-out program later this year. "The area between holes SJ06-29 and SJ06-28 is currently being tested by underground drilling. Once complete, we will have reliable data from over 500 metres of strike length and extending from surface to over 250 metres below."
