Ormonde unveils broad drill proposalThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 26th September 2006 (3237 views) Ormonde Mining has reported positive news from its gold projects in north-west Spain, saying it will continue its extensive drilling plans. The company will begin a new programme of exploration at its Salamanca gold project, along with several other ventures in the region, through the fourth quarter of 2006. The Salamanca drillings, initially between six and eight holes, will test shallow-lying targets in the bulk tonnage system in the area. Many of Ormonde's initial aims will be related to any near-surface findings. Kerr Anderson, Ormonde's managing director, said that it hoped the latest announced exploration plans would mirror those of an earlier success. "The opportunities within our portfolio of Spanish gold exploration projects continue to develop and complement the progress we have made at La Zarza," he commented. "The period until the year-end will be one of intense activity across our properties, and we see distinct potential, in particular in the Salamanca area."
