Alpha Gold has announced the discovery of a new mineralised zone at its site in Canada.

The Lustdust property is located in central British Columbia. Three exploration trenches dug there have led to the unveiling of the GD Oxide/Sulphide zone.

The new GD zone is situated roughly 500 metres to the north of the number 3 Manton Zone.

Samples taken from the site have returned gold gradings of 5.6 grams per tonne of gold and silver assays of 18.9 to 39 grams per tonne of gold.

Other significant gold findings include 5.2 g/t Au over 4.2 metres, two g/t Au over eight metres anhd 2.5 g/t Au over 10.3 metres.

Alpha president George Whatley commented: "This zone is significant as it hosts mineralisation in a new area which is between two other mineralised zones, the Canyon Creek and Manto Zones.

"It is in an area that we suspect may be an extension of the Manto Zone. Obviously, more exploration work needs to be done and this will be a high priority area. More sampling will be done to define the northern extension of the zone."
