Thursday, 28th September 2006 (3342 views) Etruscan resources has announced that it is set to start drilling operations at its site in Africa within the next few weeks. The Diba discovery is located in Mali, a west African country. A diamond drilling rig has been delivered to the site. It will be moved to the primary drilling target when repairs to an access road have been completed. A reverse circulation (RC) drill will also be moved to the site. Primary results from the diamond drill programme are expected to be returned four weeks after the completion of the first holes. Etruscan expects the RC rig will commence work at the end of October. The first set of targets for the diamond drill programme are shallow rotary air blast holes, results from which have already been announced. Etruscan's chief operating officer Don Burton commented: "These first diamond drill core holes should provide us with a clear indication of just how big Diba could be. "The assay results from the diamond drill cores will provide the means to confirm without any doubt the grades we have seen from auger and RAB drilling and provide a high level of comfort to analysts and investors following these developments in Mali West."
