Mine contracting firm Cementation Canada has been named as one of the best employers in Northern Ontario in a list of the best places to work.

Cementation's commitment to the safety, well being and financial security of its employees won it a place in the top five as compiled by Northern Ontario Business.

According to the Canadian Mining Journal the engineering, contracting and shaft-sinking company boasts an employee profit sharing scheme, various family assistance programmes and an employee social programme.

It also has a solid commitment to health and safety and offers attractive salary and incentive packages as well as professional development benefits.

According to Cementation it strives to be "an employer of choice, valuing its people and employee relationships".

Cementation has worked on a number of mining expansion projects in Northern Ontario over the last few years, including the Red Lake Gold Mine, which is owned by Goldcorp.

Red Lake, Canada's largest gold mine, is known for having some of the highest grade gold anywhere in the world. It produces over 600,000 ounces of gold a year.
