No more 'California dreaming' for SutterFriday, 27th October 2006 (2534 views) Sutter Gold Mining has declared the latest assay results for its Mother Lode District project which is located east of Sacramento in California. As it stands, 24 underground holes have been completed and in total they measure some 1,916 metres. One hole successfully intersected the Keystone Five Vein target which shows gold mineralisation. "Excellent geological continuity in several veins" was reported by Sutter and four holes have hit extended gold mineralisation southwards within the vein structure. However, the second surface drill has required mechanical repairs and has been delayed in reaching its targets. Sutter expects it to resume drilling next week. Results are currently being evaluated by geologists but some highlights have been disseminated. One hole found a wide zone of low-grade quartz stringers and gold mineralisation had thus mainly focused on the footwall of the structure. Strike length is identified at 120 metres. Sutter focuses on the development of its Californian gold properties especially in the Mother Lode gold belt which lies in north-central California. This latest project is the first significant new gold discovery made along the belt in the last 50 years.
