J-Pacific to begin drilling at Blackdome

Friday, 27th October 2006 (2454 views)

J-Pacific Gold has announced that its drilling project at the Blackdome gold mine located in the Clinton Mining District of British Columbia, is to begin at the end of this month.

The Canadian-based company plans on extending the amount of known gold resources at the site, drilling in areas that have so far been left unexplored.

Blackdome gold mine yielded some 240,000 ounces of gold between 1986 and 1991, making it one of western Canada's highest gold grade producers.

Michael Michaud, J-Pacific's president and CEO, stated: "The Blackdome project offers a unique, lower-risk opportunity for J-Pacific Gold, due to the existing mining and processing infrastructure on the project and its exploration potential."

"The success of our drilling and underground exploration could lead to a production decision as early as the fall of 2007," he continued.

Previous studies commissioned at the gold property at Blackdome have shown that the existing mineral base could be boosted by increased epithermal gold mineralization.

J-Pacific Gold has focused its attentions on mining in North America and as an aggressive miner, the company states that its aim is to "perform a high level reconnaissance to identify high probability targets and then quickly test drill these targets".
