Beaconsfield Gold has announced that it has restarted underground operations at its gold mine in Tasmanian.

The resumption of the work is currently restricted to drilling in the access decline at the site. The company is still awaiting approval for two further mining stages that could see it generate gold ore.

Beaconsfield's chairman Denis Clarke confirmed: "Separate case of safety submissions and approvals are still required for the two stages, namely ore development and ore production.

"The case for safety for ore development is to be submitted shortly to Workplace Standards Tasmania and recommencement of sill driving on ore is anticipated during December."

Questions about the future ownership of the 100,000 ounce-a-year gold mine remain as Beaconsfield looks to become the sole owner.

It is currently 51.51 per cent owned by Allstate Explorations and 48.49 per cent by Beaconsfield Gold. But Beaconsfield has confirmed it is in talks with Allstate Explorations to restructure the ownership of the mine.
